Who this covers
kevinferron.com and its pages are run by Kevin Ferron Tech Consultancy & Digital Agency Incorporated, Kevin Ferron's consultancy. This policy says what the site collects when you visit it, and what happens to anything you send.
Counting visits
To see which pages people read, the site runs two analytics tools. They record things like the page you opened, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, and your rough location from your IP address. They are used to improve the site, not to identify you.
- Google AnalyticsCounts visits, page views and a few actions on the page, such as using a calculator or playing a sample. It is sent the page address without anything after a # and without most of the query, and never what you type. It sets cookies in your browser to tell repeat visits apart.
- Vercel Analytics and Speed InsightsCounts page views and measures how fast pages load, without cookies.
What you send
If you get in touch, you choose what to share, usually a name, an email address and a message. It is used to reply to you and for nothing else.
- Contact formMessages from the form on /kftcda are emailed to me through Resend, an email delivery service. They carry which link brought you to the form, the page it was on, the site that sent you there and, if you arrived through a campaign link, its source, medium and campaign names.
- EmailMail to kcf@kevinferron.com is kept in an ordinary mailbox.
Things loaded from elsewhere
Some pages load a frame, pictures or audio from other services. Your browser asks them for the file directly, so they see your IP address and the page that asked, under their own privacy policies.
- SubstackThe email sign-up box in the footer is Substack's own, shown in a frame; what you type into it goes to Substack.
- Apple30-second song previews on the discography films, fetched only when you press play.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to it being used. Laws such as the GDPR in Europe and the CCPA in California give these rights legal force. Email kcf@kevinferron.com and you will get an answer within 30 days.
The site is not meant for children under 16 and does not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves.
